Stuart L. Stimpson

Admitted to practice in 2003, Stuart joined HMF as a Partner in January 2012. Together with his focus on Conveyancing, Employment, Insurance and Sports Law, Stuart is a civil litigator who argues mainly, cases and appeals relating to commercial and property disputes. As a Legal Consultant in the Litigation & State Proceedings Division of the Attorney General's Chambers, his advocacy skills are further honed with the cases he argues on behalf of the State, which do not conflict with the firm's practice.

Within the legal fraternity, Stuart is known for his service to the profession. Since 2013 he has been a member of the General Legal Council's Finance & Accounting Committee. For several years, he sat on the Council of the Jamaican Bar Association (JAMBAR), was 4 times elected its Vice-President and previously, served two terms as the Association's Treasurer. 

Currently, Stuart is in his second stint as an Associate Tutor at the Norman Manley Law School, now teaching Conveyancing Practice & Procedure. He also serves as a member of JAMBAR's Continuing Legal Education and Accreditation Committees. 

In addition to his service to the profession, Stuart is legal advisor to Mount Pleasant F.C., Secretary of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Jamaica and a co-founder/director of Disciples of Christ (Jamaica) - a registered charitable organisation.
