We offer a maritime, shipping and aviation law practice, focusing on transactional, leasing and litigation matters in Jamaica. Our Attorneys provide representation to every area of these industries including shippers, airlines, airports, airport and seaport developers, carriers, ship owners, stevedores, energy companies, cruise lines, non-vessel-operating common carriers, salvage entities, port and terminal operators, shipyards, banks and financial companies, among others. We focus on issues to ensure that client deals are negotiated, structured, documented and completed with the fullest attention to detail.

Our capabilities include the following:

  • Transactional counsel, including mergers, aircraft and ship acquisitions and aircraft leasing, joint ventures and vessel sales, financing and mortgages, and the full range of shipping, logistics, towage, vessel charter, marine terminal, salvage, stevedoring and other agreements and contracts.
  • Domestic and international regulatory issues under the Shipping Act, environmental law and MARPOL Convention issues; Sufferance Wharf Licenses and ISPS advice, and other shipping and aviation laws and policies.
  • Labour and Industrial Relations in the aviation and shipping industries.
  • Litigation and arbitration involving claims for lost, damaged, delayed or hazardous cargo, detention and arrest of ships and aircrafts, claims arising out of collisions, wrongful death and personal injury, contract disputes, oil spills, pollution and product liability, in rem claims against vessels and other property, and complex marine insurance claims.
