WDonovan

A practicing Attorney-at-Law since 1991, Donovan joined the firm as a Partner on March 1, 2011 (having been a Partner for many years at another prominent Jamaican law firm). Donovan is a Notary Public and practices in the areas of corporate and commercial law, maritime law, conveyancing, mortgage financing and securities, mergers and acquisitions, international trade and investments, sports and entertainment law. 

He served as the President of the Jamaican Bar Association between March, 2014 to March, 2016 and serves as a Member of its Commercial Law, Publications and Revenue Sub-Committees. Donovan is the President of the Organisation of Commonwealth Caribbean Bar Associations (OCCBA) and is also a member of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association.

Donovan is the Executive Chairman of Subway (Jamaica) Limited, a director of the Companies Office of Jamaica, the Maritime Authority of Jamaica as well as the Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Pocket Rocket Foundation. He is presently the Chairman of the Maritime Authority Pension Fund and served as a Commissioner/Director of the Consumer Affairs Commission, Jamaica. Donovan serves as a board member of Citizens Action for Free & Fair Elections (CAFFE). He curently serves as a Council Member of the General Legal Council, Jamaica.

He is an active Rotarian and a Distinguished Past President of the Rotary Club of Saint Andrew.

Donovan read for a Bachelor of Laws at the University of the West Indies as well as a Master of Laws at University College London. He also studied at the Norman Manley Law School, where he presently serves as an Associate Tutor.

He has published a number of legal articles and has presented on legal issues at various conferences in Jamaica, the Caribbean and worldwide.

He is named as one of the leading commercial Attorneys-at-Law in Jamaica by Chambers Global as well as IFLR 1000.
